The Policy, Compliance and Training department periodically conducts training sessions for schools and lenders in Oklahoma.
Some of the other training sessions we have available include:
- Successful Workplace Communication - Establish effective communication habits at work and home by practicing the four C’s: consistency, clarity, compromise and confidence.
- Income-Based Repayment - Learn the fundamentals of the Income-Based Repayment (IBR) plan, which became effective on July 1, 2009. Topics include background information, eligible loan types, Partial Financial Hardship (PFH) and documentation, determination of PFH, definitions, disclosures, payments and forgiveness.
- Regulations & Research - Keep up with the ever-changing federal rules by learning how the process works and accessing the tools that will help you find the answers you need.
- Default Prevention School Tool - Learn how to use our free tool to maximize your resources in combating loan delinquencies.
- Options for Getting Out of Default
- The Life of the Loan - Get an overview of FFELP rules and processes.
- Telephone Skills - Interactively focus on how best to serve customers over the phone.
- Listening Skills - Learn the importance of listening to customers and how ineffective listening can affect your customers and staff.
- Teamwork with Vision - Focuses on identifying and communicating a common team vision.
- Magic Words that Change Negative to Positive - Find positive substitutions for some everyday words and body language often viewed as judgmental.
- Loan Processing Resolutions - Get important processing tips along with overviews of NSLDS and the role of OGSLP as a guarantor.
- Dealing with Difficult People at Work - Get five tips about dealing with co-workers who are cranky, aggressive, subtle snipers, complainers, and silent avoiders.
- Goal Setting that Keeps You Motivated - This course can help you use goal-setting to create self-confidence, identify goal-setting barriers and learn guidelines for successful goal-setting.
- How to Thrive in a Stressful Workplace - Learn to identify the causes of stress, get three steps to improve perception and discover ten stress buster tips.

Oklahoma Money Matters (OKMM), OGSLP's financial literacy initiative, teaches personal finance workshops for students and provides train-the-trainer support for campus staff in a variety of topics, including:
