- H.R. 5043 (PDF), the Private Student Loan Bankruptcy Fairness Act of 2010 – The act would amend title 11 of the USC to modify the dischargeability of debts for certain educational payments and loans; applies to cases initiated on/after date the amendment passes.
- H.R. 5055 (PDF), College Debt Swap Act of 2010 – The act would provide additional Pell Grant funds and establish a temporary private education loan debt consolidation program to assist eligible borrowers in refinancing all or a portion of their private education debt as Federal Direct Consolidation Loans; for loans disbursed to a borrower on/after July 1, 1994 and before July 1, 2010.
