OGSLP Part of Collaborative Effort to Produce New College Access Web site – Going2college.org
Students now have a comprehensive resource that makes college and career planning easier thanks to a new online service, Going2college.org. The site is part of a collaborative effort of guaranty agencies, the National Council of Higher Education Loan Programs (NCHELP) and Mapping Your Future. Going2college.org was developed in response to the College Access Initiative, which was included in the Higher Education Reconciliation Act (HERA). This section of the Act formally recognizes that promotion of access to postsecondary education is a foundational role for guaranty agencies. Click here to read more on how Oklahoma is involved.

Cash for College’s “Bottom of the Backpack” Message Airing on a Cable Station Near You!
A new “Cash for College” message titled “Bottom of the Backpack” has started airing on cable stations around the state. The spot targets parents of high school students. The message is simple: “Your child has received, or will soon receive, college preparation materials. Parents, if you’d like to see the preparation materials, give us a call.” Click here to read more and view message.

Upcoming Legal Issues in Higher Education (LIHE) Conference
Don’t forget that the fourth biennial Legal Issues in Higher Education (LIHE) Conference is scheduled on Tuesday, October 17, 2006, at the Oklahoma Memorial Union on the Norman campus of the University of Oklahoma.
