Scholarship Opportunities
Nelnet - National Scholarship Sweepstakes
Nelnet College Planning is awarding $31,000 in scholarships! High school
seniors can register for a chance to win a $1,000 scholarship. One winner
is chosen every week from September 2, 2005 through March 31, 2006.
To enter the sweepstakes, participants must be a high school senior, a registered member of Nelnet College Planning, and planning to enroll in college for the 2006-2007 school year. Entries will be accepted between September 2, 2005 and March 31, 2006. All winners will be notified by e-mail and U.S. mail. Scholarship checks will be made co-payable to the winner’s school and mailed to the school in August 2006.

Bank of Oklahoma Scholarship
Bank of Oklahoma annually awards ten $1,000 scholarships to Oklahoma high
school seniors for use at Oklahoma colleges and universities. Deadline
is March 30 each year.

The Freedom Forum/NCAA Sports Journalism Scholarship Program
The Freedom Forum, through a grant to the NCAA, supports eight $3,000 scholarships
to college juniors who have career goals in sports journalism and major
in journalism or have experience in campus sports journalism.
The program assists deserving full-time students in their final year of study and is designed to foster freedoms of speech and press while promoting quality sports journalism education at the collegiate level.
Applications for these scholarships are available in late August from the institution's NCAA faculty athletics representative, journalism department or school newspaper office.
