The College Goal Sunday team, coordinated by Rick Edington from OGSLP, is moving forward on finalizing the details for this year's College Goal Sunday event. Despite inclement weather last year, over 1,000 students and parents took advantage of the opportunity to visit one of the 32 CGS campus sites in the state for assistance with the federal student aid application process. Students and parents also had the chance to speak to student services staff and academic support staff, as well as admissions counselors.
The 2004 College Goal Sunday is set for Feb. 8 from 2-4 p.m. at 27 sites throughout the state with 32 schools participating.
On Dec. 8, a College Goal Sunday Videoconference was held. During the videoconference site coordinators had the opportunity to discuss logistics and share ideas. The attached Master Site Listing provides the current 2004 CGS locations. The master list will be updated when changes occur and made available via the OASFAA listserv or the College Goal Sunday Web page (currently under construction).
The College Goal Sunday team is excited by the fact that many schools are choosing to partner up, thereby increasing resources available for the events. Oklahoma College Goal Sunday is sponsored by Lumina Foundation for Education, Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, Oklahoma GEAR UP, Oklahoma Guaranteed Student Loan Program and the Oklahoma Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators.
