Loan Forgiveness...What You Should Know!

Do you or does someone you know qualify for student loan forgiveness? Under certain circumstances, a student loan can be forgiven, cancelled or discharged.

Students and families now have an opportunity to ask counselors about loan forgiveness during an online chat offered by Mapping Your Future. Mapping Your Future, a public-service web site providing college, career, financial aid, and financial literacy information and services, will offer an evening Loan Forgiveness, Discharge and Cancellation Chat on Dec. 9, 2003 at 6:00 p.m.

During this Loan Forgiveness Chat, students participants will learn more about the Stafford and Perkins Loan forgiveness programs. The discussion will include how eligibility for loan forgiveness is determined, and how borrowers apply.

On January 13, 2004 Mapping Your Future will offer a chat featuring the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
